Using Humby Organic Bars for your hair will help reduce plastic waste. Our bars are all-natural and will add a lot of moisture which nourishes the hair without the harsh chemicals.
The Humby Organics Bars are packed in compostable wrappers made from plant and sugar cane. The bars are sent to us and you plastic-free. For every order, we do a tree will be planted!
Your hair does not need to adjust to the ingredients of our Bars, as some other brands require. I tried many other brands which left a residue that made my hair dull, greasy and heavy. Even after rinsing with vinegar, which was recommended, it did not get better. We are so happy that we can offer the Humby Organic Bars: no hair adjusting time, no smelly vinegar, and easy to apply and wonderful shiny hair.
All the Shampoo and Conditioner Bars are:
- Earth Friendly
- Natural colored
- SLS Free
- Palm Oil-Free
- Gluten-Free (shampoo bars only)
- Responsibly-Sourced Ingredients
- pH balanced (around 7)
- The packaging is 100% compostable and biodegradable
- Handmade in the USA
Sodium Coco-Sulfate (made from coconuts not petroleum like SLS’s) is used because this is a mild cleanser and is what makes the bars lather. Without it, the bars are like regular soap labeled as shampoo and your hair will feel greasy and look dull.
The Bars may contain traces of nuts or oxides for coloring.
The Conditioner Bars contain gluten from wheat germ oil.
How to use the shampoo & conditioner bars?
Conditioner: We recommend using them all over the hair, even on the roots. Using the bars helps heal the scalp and prevents it from overproducing oils after time. If you use enough conditioner your hair should be easy to comb.
It is recommended that you store your bars outside the shower. I put my bars on a soap dish that I covered with an old towel cut in the same shape. A soap rack or dish with holes will also work. You can also just put them on a washcloth. If you leave it in the shower or on a wet tray it will dissolve. The bars get their scent from essential oils and the scent will become less over time. You can prevent this by storing the bars in a container after they are dry or cover with a washcloth.
The Hibiscus Shampoo Bars are 2.4 oz and will last 50-75 washes and the other Shampoo Bars are 3.0 oz and will last 75-90 washes. This depends on the length of the hair.
All the Conditioner Bars are 1.7oz and will last 60-80 times.
